Show Notes

New York City is a complex place in which to work within public safety. In the middle of it all is the 911 system that receives calls from citizens and dispatches first responder resources. In this podcast I interview Chris Carver, a former Chief Dispatcher and Director of Fire Dispatch Operations for the New York City Fire Department where he helped to coordinate the response to some of New York City’s largest disasters. We discuss the status of 911 systems in general and dominance of technology that increasingly is being used within 911 systems. Additionally, we talk about how New York City and other communities can work to become more disaster resilient. Today Chris is Hexagon’s Director of Sales for the Eastern United States.
